IL MARE - MAY 25, 7:30 @ UltraStar Mission Valley

Some of you have probably seen the trailers for THE LAKEHOUSE, the new romance film starring Keanu Reaves and Sandra Bullock.  Well, it's another example of a Hollywood remake of a Korean film.  IL MARE is a touching, fantasy love story starring Ji-Hyun Jun (My Sassy Girl).  More info on the film HERE

So, the SDAFF is screening IL MARE one-time only on Thursday, May 25, 7:30pm at the UltraStar Mission Valley.  (Guarantee a seat by purchasing online here) Great chance to see the original before The Lakehouse comes out in June.  I think this one (unlike My Sassy Girl or Old Boy) will translate better in the U.S. Version... take a look at the poster with Keanu and Sandra...

IN OTHER NEWS...

Well, it's official.  Sorry to bury the lead, but just wanted to let any of you news junkies know that I have been promoted as the co-host of our new 4PM show (which is replacing Oprah) called 10-4 San Diego.  I'm really excited about this opportunity b/c it's supposed to be personality driven and more casual and fun... which is right up my alley!

So, I need your help.  Story ideas... feedback on what YOU would like to see during a one-hour long show like 10-4.  I know that most people aren't home at 4PM to watch the news, but there are ALOT of people watching Oprah across the nation, and we want to win some of those viewers and gain new ones.

We're looking for off-the-beaten-path, fun stories in San Diego and also want to address life issues (home, family, career, dating, fashion, health) that will be practical for you.  Feel free to email me at:  104sandiego@gmail.com  or simply leave me a message.

I REALLY want this to succeed and feel alot of pressure, not only b/c it's a new show, but as an Asian American, I've always been part of the "supporting cast."  Now that I'm a "lead", I scared to death but know this is just the challenge I need to re-energize myself and represent!  Can I get a holla???

 IT'S A BOY!

Sorry I've been bogged down with work and just emotionally tired lately.  But wanted to share the wonderful news that we have finally been matched with a beautiful new baby boy in Korea for adoption.  Here's the pee-wee...

Born on February 9, this cutie pie is now in the care of a foster family in Seoul.  It will probably be about 5-6 months before he arrives here in San Diego.  We've been preparing Weston by showing him the picture of his new brother, who we'll name Samuel.  It'll be interesting how I'll have to explain to folks why they're 7 months apart in age.

Funny thing, someone at work asked me, "who does he look like more - you or Louis?"  Uh, neither?  HE'S FROM ANOTHER MOM AND DAD. *sigh*

Look at those toes!

WHAT A BITCH

Almost hit a dog while driving on Mira Mesa Blvd.  A pit bull, no leash, no collar.  Nearly caused a chain reaction accident... and it just trotted across the street and didn't even care about oncoming traffic.  I'm SO mad at the owners for not keeping it locked up.  My heart was racing so bad I had to pull over to take a breather.

I had my son in my car, and I can't help but think about WHAT IF I had to brake a second earlier, and the big SUV behind me rearended me, causing five more cars to crash into each other.  Is that dog's life worth it?

NO, not when my son is involved. Thank God, nothing happened.

I never ran over an animal on the road, but I did have a bird fly into my car once.  Scared the living crap out of me.  Can anyone relate?

Two planes crashed in El Cajon.  Made for a crazy news day.

But I came home to see this yummy bubba....

Been getting alot of text messages and emails lately from "blasts from the past" who are only finding out now that I gave birth to this chunk. Thanks to all for your well-wishes.

I'm working on a special report now on baby sign language. It's amazing... I really encourage anyone who has kids (aged 7 - 18 months) to start teaching their kids sign language. It's amazing how much your kids can understand but CANNOT say.  Gesturing will open a whole new world of communication between you and your child.

BTW, did anyone see Madonna at the Grammy's?  She looks so friggin' good.  I hate her (in a good way).  Totally ageless after two babies.  It's nice what $100 million dollars will do for you.

NEWS BLUES

This is a totally self-absorbed entry only meant to make me feel better about myself.

Tonight, I did the WORST liveshot ever in my career in television.  It was such an easy story about the harbor seals controversy at the Children's Pool in La Jolla, and yet I totally went blank because of a serious miscommunication with my photographer.  I completely forgot what I was supposed to say because I was so absorbed with the blatent disregard from my photographer to shoot what I was talking about live.

It was like Jan Brady when she was the red light.  (thank God the show leading into our newscast was the BACHELOR in PARIS - what a crock!)

Did you ever see anything live on a news program that could have possibly been worse than me?  If so, I want to selfishly hear about it.
